Favorite New Studio Albums of 2023
Today I completed my playlist for the new studio albums I enjoyed most in 2023.
This year was particularly fun because in addition to the expected releases from active acts we were also treated to albums from some interesting names from the past (Uriah Heep), artists who just never seem to stop (Willie Nelson, Van Morrison), new acts from some known artists (Codefendants), brand new acts (ceo@business.net), and even some completely new genre sounds like “Desert Blues” from a group of Tuareg musicians from the Sahara in northern Mali (Tinariwen). As always, some of my personal favorites from musicians I know made it into the list as well. Who knows, maybe you’ll discover your next favorite act on this playlist!
Once completed the playlist ended up including 66 albums, totaling 776 songs which played back-to-back would run for over 48 hours. Put it on shuffle and let it ride! Here’s the playlist in text so you can recreate it on your favorite service, along with direct links to Tidal below.
